Artist's Bio...

For over a quarter of a century Jayne Persico has been incorporating new ideas and expanding tradition in the glass medium.  Leaving behind a legacy in stained glass she ventured into the creation of glass jewelry.  Through her exploration of fusing and working with semi precious gems, her interest in glass alchemy led to a line of her jewelry that appears in galleries and collections around the world. She has also mastered the art form of glass casting and Pâte de Verre and incorporates these challenging techniques into her newest designs.

Jayne is a frequent guest instructor on National Television and has several instructional videos and DVDs on glass and wire jewelry designs, fusing, embossing and kiln formed bracelets, a technique that she developed.

She has developed the following products to support her techniques:

• Kiln Formed Bracelet Tools - Tools used for manipulating and creating kiln formed
   bracelets and watches.

• Glass Embossing System - A system that uses bronze components to impress
   patterns and designs into glass.

• Colour de Verre Reusable Glass Casting System - This system allows you to create
cast glass jewelry, dinnerware, paperweights and decorative objects using this new
   open face mold format.

Her work has been published in Glass Art Magazine, Glass Craftsman Magazine, Glass Patterns Quarterly, and Bead and Button Magazine. She is the author of three books, Jayne Persico Presents Innovative Adornments, Jayne Persico Presents Kiln Form Bracelets, and Jayne Persico Presents Glass Kiln Casting.

Among the educational programs at which she teaches are Hot Glass Horizons, Glass Craft Expo, Glass Extravaganza and Glass Visions.  She teaches at numerous studios throughout the country and is included in a select group of artists that teach for The Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. She also conducts workshops in Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Germany and Canada.

She received an invitation by Waterford Crystal to work with their designers to incorporate her bracelet techniques and her original designs into their crystal and continues to create and design crystal pieces each time she visits Ireland.

Jayne is currently involved in Crystal Studio Ireland, a glass blowing education program located in Waterford Ireland, classes are held at the Waterford Crystal Factory.
